Reel Impact Communications is a full range communications company specializing in corporate video and print communications. Originally based in Ottawa Ontario, it is now based out of Matawatchan in the Township of Greater Madawaska, Ontario. Owners, Mark and Lois Thomson, are semi-retired and are now best known as editors and publishers of the much-loved print publication, The Madawaska Highlander, or Highlander, as most people call it. This unique paper contains local updates, national and international headlines, and articles of interest to residents and visitors, celebrating farm and country life in the Madawaska, Lanark, and Addington Highlands of Eastern Ontario.  The Highlander is made possible by our advertisers and talented volunteer contributors who are retired journalists, aspiring writers, community leaders, and book authors. Our annual Short Story Contest attracts new writers, some of whom, like two-time winner, Shelley Holloway, have gone on to publish their own books.  

 

Based near Canada’s Capital, Reel Impact has worked with Crown corporations and several departments of the Government of Canada, as well as major corporations and small businesses on a wide variety of communication projects.
